Which is more important to you, having guns or the lives of your children?

Gun related death is third leading cause of death for children after car accidents.
Remove -or, excessively control - guns and you merely remove the 'technique' the crackpot uses to murder. The crackpot will just find another technique such as the home made bomb. Then, you would have to ban the sales or, excessively control, such simple products as hydrogen peroxide, one of the easily-accessible, household products essential for the home-made explosive device.
@QuixoticSoul surely you realise by now I have my mind set, as do you.. we are not going to convince each other of anything here. Let’s move on

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Eh - someone else might learn something.
Well.. you’re right there 👍

I think the false dichotomy is on your part based on your false rationale. The fact is that the society as a whole lacks the discipline to keep people alive. Instead of simple rules that keep the bad boys and girls out of circulation. Instead of trying to 'understand' (excuse) their bad behavior society needs to understand that not all thought is rational and not all actions are based on goodness. The Broward shooter was known to be a threat and blaming his actions on guns shows just how clueless some people truly are. The Boston bombers used pressure cookers shall we ban them too? The Oklahoma bomber used a Ryder truck shall we ban those too? It is not the tool that is to blame it is the 'understanding and accepting' attitude that allows nutbars to be nuts and kill people.

@fazer1k The fact is sir that in a free society you are assumed innocent until proven guilty. You want to reverse that. Go to hell.

@hippyjoe1955 Take your own advice.
There have been more people killed with knives than killed with guns.
In all of history, probably. These days in the US - no. Tbh I'm almost surprised as knives are so common and easily accessible.
According to FBI data for 2016, 11,004 of the 15,070 murders in the United States were committed with firearms. Handguns were the most common type of firearm used in 7,105 cases. In 3,263 cases, the type of gun was not reported to the FBI or was listed as “other” while in 903 instances, the weapon was not identified or was listed as “other."
This is not really an argument that's going to fly with the gun crowd. They think guns is what they need to protect their kids and families, despite the reality of the situation, where cases where a gun was successfully used to protect a family, is a drip in the ocean of kids/innocents, killed through gun violence.
@Northwest

lol zing. Now pause while he furiously googles
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@Northwest Guess cars are more important than kids lives,huh?
Northwest · M
@Pikachu It's like "shooting" fish in a barrel, with him :-) I'm sure the shooting thing will go over his head.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@MrBrownstone Hitler is on your side of these things. He was not a gun grabber. Nazis were pro-gun as a general rule - for some of the same reasons many of you are. Patriots defending their land and all that.

They just made exceptions for the Jews - but they took every other right away from them as well. It's not a great example of their views on gun control policy.

Jews represented less than 1% of the German population. They were fucked, guns or no guns. Things wouldn't have worked out for them regardless.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@QuixoticSoul I get it. You are a Nazi sympathizer.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@MrBrownstone I mean, you're the one pushing Hitler's agenda here...

Where did you get that statistic?
jackson55 · M
@Pikachu What do you consider restricted?
@jackson55

Well for instance if these are 15's are being used so much in school shootings, is it more important that you be allowed to own them because you want to or to make it harder for the average joe school shooter to get their hands on?

@Pikachu Shoot one..it feels rather nice. It is AR15 though...facts😉

The answer to this should be obvious, as it is to most of the western world. I feel your plight!
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@FelixLegion Freedom to kill kids? Shouldn't kids have the freedom to go about their daily lives without fear of being shot?

@BlueClapTrap And the majority of those car related deaths would surely be accidents. I doubt the same could be said for gun deaths.

Then why don’t school buses have seat belts?
@MrBrownstone

Because when buses do crash and you have 20 kids locked in with seat belts it's a lot harder to get them out, especially in a hurry.

Seems like the obvious answer, doesn't it?
Having Guns (And I don't even own any Guns). But I still say, having guns
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@TickleTortureYouUntilTears That's about the truth of it, I'm sure, though few would admit to it. Very sad for society though.
been this way for longer then we can imagine apparently..
