Never mind the Obama and Hillary disgraceful excuse of an administration, with the dumocrates help of course of course.
jackson55 · M
@windinhishair If you think that would stop it you're dreaming.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@jackson55 Eliminating gerrymandering alone would create dozens of competitive districts nationwide. Right now Republicans have about a 2% edge nationally, so they can get a majority in the House with a little over 48% of the vote. On the other hand, Democrats need about 52% of the vote to break even.

A national vote would give both parties a chance to win. If you can't go that far, we could possibly apportion electoral votes according to the popular vote in the state. So, for example if California votes 60% Democratic and 40% Republican, you could award 33 electoral votes to the Democrats and 22 to the Republicans. Since there is a built-in advantage for small states (which are mostly Republican), there would continue to be a Republican advantage until the demographic shift becomes too great in the 2030s.

@jackson55 Just curious how you can say that with a straight face. Back to Reagan as governor of the state, that was 7 governors ago. Including Reagon, they have had 4 Republican governors and 3 Democratic ones, with the only in-a-row being 2 Republicans.

That doesn't sound like a "Democratic supermajority" to me. Sounds very competitive, as it should be.

@waleskinder Yes!! But hes. Number One. Although I somehow always think of him as Number Two.💩
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@whowasthatmaskedman If you asked him, he'd tell you that he's the biggest, most beautiful Number Two that anyone has ever seen! Everyone knows it and is talking about it.
Yes, he is an absolute disgrace.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
Even Republican political scientists and those that lean conservative had him ranked 40th of 44. It is clear to everyone by now that he is an unmitigated disaster.
@windinhishair Who’s 44, I wonder ?
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard Conservatives and Republicans both ranked James Buchanan number 44, with Andrew Johnson, Franklin Pierce, and William Henry Harrison all ranked lower than trump. That's pretty sad to be barely ahead on a man who served 30 days (Harrison) and died in office, having accomplished nothing. Overall, trump falls well below Harrison when independent, liberal, and democratic votes are considered.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard Probably Buchanan.. For taking the nation into a Civil War.. But it wouldnt surprise me if Trump topped him.
akindheart · 61-69, F
its his first year. they are comparing him to 4 yr terms. plus you are a little late with this info. its been out a week ago
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@akindheart Fair comment. Buchanan had four years to tear a nation apart.. Trump has less than two years so far.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@whowasthatmaskedman he has 2 more to go and I love what he has done so far..
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Actually, taking the long view, I suppose I could be "satisfied".. He is on track to send the Republican Party into the political wilderness over the next three years. Something "Arnie" could never have done, if he were allowed to take the job. I cant wait for the Mid Terms.@akindheart

@Greenbare Which "Everyone" would that be? The Fox News viewers? As Trump supporters seem fond of saying, "You got no proof"
@Greenbare So. If you can't trust the media... And you can't trust the government... And you can't trust the intelligence community... And you can't trust academics...

How do you know if anything is "fake" if there is nothing "true"?
Pfuzylogic · M
@Greenbare
No you have a Chief of staff that just doesn't care about security i.e. Gen. Kelly. His careless behavior lets the Russians have more access to our secrets than those with "a need to know".
Cierzo · M
I don't understand how the words politics and science can go together. Politics is based on opinions about to rule society, science is based on facts.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Cierzo psychology and statistics are both sciences, as is "Game Theory" a branch of mathematics.. These are all components of politics.
Cierzo · M
@whowasthatmaskedman Statistics may be a science, but psychology? I would not call disciplines based on human behaviour, and therefore unpredictable, like psychology, sociology, economics or politics a science.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Cierzo I wont argue the semantics with you... But you will find psychology taught in the medical faculty of Universities.. Remember "political science" is more about the analysis of politics than its reportage, which certainly belongs in arts..
I just wonder why people assume that chronic liars are suddenly telling the truth when the lies support what they 'want' to believe. These people tell one lie after another, but people still consider them a reliable source. It doesn't make any sense.
Pfuzylogic · M
The NRA loves him.
I think it is the only A he has received.
Pfuzylogic · M
@whowasthatmaskedman
One of the organizations he noses up to.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Pfuzylogic Lets be fair.. Pretty much all politicians do, up to this point... But Bob Dylan was right.. "The times, they are achangin". The NRA can become another Weinstein real quick if the pressure stays on..
Pfuzylogic · M
@whowasthatmaskedman

The HS students have impressed me with their immediate impact on a special needs president.
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
In fairness, and believe me, I have nothing but contempt for the man, but he cannot be worse than James Buchanan. Not yet anyway.
Graylight · 51-55, F
He's right; he is the best at everything!
🤗
Yep. The world knows it. Only he and his supporters are slow getting the memo.
