I think the NRA shamefully hides behind words that assure the 18th century American militia, long before a national standing army, remains strong and armed.

@Graylight the students themselves....the ones that were tragically effected....turned it into a cry for help. It is a gun problem and nothing else. The proliferation of guns and the idiocy of weapons designed solely to kill is a problem unique to the US. We have more guns and far more related deaths than any civilized nation. To put off discussion is another tragedy
