Something for BOTH sides of politics to read and consider.

This covers the whole US Political thing better than I could.

Looking at your political situation, I just don't see the two sides as symmetrical. The Republicans have been much more belligerent and for a longer period of time. Even during the latest shutdown, they seemed to get most of what they wanted.

I just don't think moderation is what the US left needs. You have an opponent unwilling to be bi-partisan and a radical right-wing administration. I'm not saying that is right or fair but it is what it is. I think the Democrats should be even tougher as that seems like the only strategy to avoid defeat.

"...they've been much more willing to use extreme measures to get what they want." That's true. And a big part of that, in my opinion, revolves around Citizens United and the end of the Fairness Doctrine. The GOP has been able to 'sell' a message to the people that bares little resemblance to their real agenda. I think that's why so many freak out when the "real Americans" draw their line in the sand. They've chosen to go all in with those who don't have their best interests at heart. It's frustrating to watch people kiss the hand that beats them.

@Ynotisay You are correct of course. But on the other side. (What passes for a left in the US) There are those who also operate well outside the spirit of the law, taking money for favors and governing for the benefit of donors.. If both sides were not guilty, then the voters would not have been so keen to embrace Trump just because he promised something different.. He is a symptom. Not the core problem. The core problem is the money rigging the system. On both sides.

@whowasthatmaskedman I agree...to a point. Citizens United was fought against tooth and nail by the Democrats. There's a reason for that. Sorry but there's no equivalency between the two parties when it comes to donors and expectations.
Bravo!!! You knocked em dead with that one!

It’s actually a very fair no finger pointing article. It points out and explains the pre Trump polarization in the country. Any ideas how to correct the polarization (please refrain from finger pointing and blame and focus on problem solving for ALL). @MistyCee
@jackjjackson best I've got off the top of my head is refraining.
