Trump's real motivation for becoming President. What do you think?

[image=http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2018/01/michael-wolff-fire-and-fury-book-donald-trump.html]

Take a few moments to read this article in it's entirety. Before you comment on the content, think for a moment and then take an extra step to consider if even a fraction of what's noted is accurate and true. What does that say about this man we call our President? Is he simply a marketing man, running his life, his brand, his name purely like a business? Can you, in complete honesty, state and actually believe this man truly represents and serves all citizens of this country for the love of this country, for patriotism, for good health and good will for each of us? Remember, think of whether only a portion of the content in this is true and offer your honest and thoughtful observations, assessment and criticism.

I don't even need to read the article. The man is a self serving, narcissistic asshole. Once you've lived with one, you can spot one a mile away.
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
@SW-User Truth. Or worked with one.
SW-User
@luckranger71 Yes. That too.
bonviveur · F
@SW-User I only recommend you take a look as it truly paints a picture that everyone should see for what it is... today. And not hearing about it months or years from now or learning about it as a part of how something so awful could have happened in our history.

I like the part where his staffers noticed him telling people over the phone, the very things that would later be "leaked". XD Maybe Trumpski was his own leaker.
I ordered this book, but I’m sure it will confirm what most of us have already discerned—this was just another “business venture”, nothing at all to do with benefiting the American people. Too bad some were gullible enough to vote for him.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard Enough to get him elected. Sad.
bonviveur · F
@bijouxbroussard @windinhishair Very sad for so many people and our country. I don't know about impeachment... but what I do know is he needs to and will be replaced at the end of the term. The wave of voters who cast a vote in his favor has certainly diminished and his very policy and protocol (or lack thereof) will continue to place him precisely where he belongs in history. This cannot (and needs not to) happen again if we remain aware, active and vigilant for positive change.

The Russians helped trump win by hacking the voting system so they could play him like their puppet - which is leading to WW3 as we can all see re the news. Why did the Russians do this ? .... POWER it’s always about power
SW-User
@SW-User @bonviveur I absolutely agree.... from what I’ve read and my gut feeling. Trump is a very dangerous man. Wish he would step down or be impeached 😔 maybe this year? 🙏🏻👀

@Sniper 'No one has been able to produce any evidence yet.' ..... and the intelligence agencies' report was just more fake news I suppose ?

Careful what you wish for , the saying goes. We can alll find solace in the fact that now he's been found out , justice will eventually be done and this abomination of a human being will meet the fate he so richly deserves.

I don't think he ever really wanted to be President.
NeuroticByNature · 41-45, F
bonviveur · F
@LyricalOne @NeuroticByNature It's true. This actually speaks to how he didn't want to be President. It was only ever about building further upon his empire and name. What legacy precisely is he going to have? We get to say how this plays out for him if/as we keep ourselves aware of how he positioned himself, played everyone, including politicians, media, his own family, the
American public, but not the rest of the world. The world has seen the likes of these kinds of people. But not us. He is our first. Let us be aware, take action to ensure a replacement and be certain this DOES NOT happen again.
wetncthru · F
Oh, he IS President? I thought he was a cutout diversion manufactured by the TV industry...
wetncthru · F
bonviveur · F
@wetncthru So, you're from Denmark? And how does Denmark view Trump?
wetncthru · F
@bonviveur With a mixture of disbelief, amusement and apprehension.
Nimbus · M
It's nothing about Michael Wolff and his publishers seeking all the publicity they can get in order to make vast profits though!
bonviveur · F
@Nimbus If I had the kind of access and was able to observe the very things proposed in this, I would also want to be paid for my efforts in documenting, writing, editing and sharing something worth sharing. And paying the publisher for printing it and getting the message out to the public. Would you rather we keep it all a secret and be duped? Again, assume 50% is true. 25%.

The state of the stock market is not an indication of the state of the economy... it is only a state of the stock market, which is a self-serving shell-game unto itself.

The stock market operates under the same principle as a mutual fund ..and a mutual fund operates under the same principle as a pyramid scheme.

The stock market, the mutual fund market and any American-made pyramid scheme reflect absolutely nothing about the actual state of the US economy.

The jobs have not yet returned to the USA from offshore Nations and the jobs that have been created within the USA are low-end, minimum wage McJobs, which were not job-creation initiatives fostered by the US government. They were 'natural attrition' jobs, which were open-vacancies from those who had abandoned those same jobs due to low pay and shitty working conditions.

Trump has created NO jobs whatsoever and he has NOT brought the American corporations back from China like he promised his illustrious 'base' he would do. In that department, Trump has once again failed miserably.

Trump has not positively affected the US economy as you are quick to give him sole credit for. If you think he is responsible for any perceived growth within the US economy, you are delusional at best. If anything, Trump has driven away foreign investment to other Nations like Canada, Ireland and Germany where the real money is, where the real investment potential lies.

As long as Trump is in Washington, foreign investment anywhere in the USA is on par with gambling in a casino. What Americans like yourself do not understand, is that the US economy is going down as it desperately struggles to pay interest on it's National debt; it is not going 'up' like an elevator as if everything were just fine and dandy in the US economy! Things are NOT good!
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
@swirlie Good post. The Trumpies generally do not receive information outside their echo chamber. It should worry them that Trump is stuck in the 30s with the market going as it has. It demonstrates that people just don’t like him. If the economy tanks he’ll be down to the diehards.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@swirlie The job numbers for December came out today--lower than expected. If you look at the first 11 months of job gains under trump, they are less than the last 11 months under Obama. And if you look at 2017 as a whole, the job gains under Obama in 2016 were more than under trump. People think he's building jobs, but he's really building on Obama's performance, except that trump is doing a worse job of it. @luckranger71

Trump had absolutely no intention of being President. His own son Don Jr. recently stated so in Bannon's latest book. When Donald Trump realized that he had won the Electoral College vote and came out ahead of Hillary, this totally screwed up Donald's life and his mind, because his privacy is EVERYTHING to him. If Donald became President in truth, he would lose everything that was important to himself, as he perceived his truth to be within his own mind.

The only reason Donald ran for the Presidency, was because he could. It started out as a game for him, as he loved to bash Hillary. Trump loves to grandstand and loves to put himself in the public spotlight, mainly to gain personal exposure all over the world. But the absolute last thing Donald Trump wanted, was a political life, the Presidency and all the bullshit that goes with it.

Don Jr. said that he watched his father slowly imploding and the blood draining from his face as the realizations were being made within Donald's mind that he had actually won the Election, which was not what Donald actually wanted to see happen at the end of the day. Donald wanted to stay in NYC and be a business guy. His marriage went on the rocks the moment his Presidency was announced on TV, because Melania was only going along with his stupid publicity stunt. But now she was involved as the First Lady and Donald dragged her into it by default. The last thing Melania wanted to be was the First Lady.

The only thing that quickly turned Donald around, was his ego. Don Jr. reported that his father needed to be convinced almost on the spot, that he was deserving of the Presidency and that the American people were deserving of the Trump name to be serving their best interests as only Donald could do. After thinking about it for an hour, Donald finally agreed with is son Don Jr.
