why do we set up standards like color and religion to determine if someone is worthy?
hlpflwthat · M
@nonsensiclesnail I always believed us to be better than that.
Because they are our brothers and sisters too
hunter2016 · 26-30, M
You mean Muslims and not Arab. Also it's not just the white man who they have it out for it's all non Muslims as well as all non-heterosexuals and all trans people and usually women too
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@hunter2016 Hmm, what do we say about liberty and safety? And yes, fear mongering generally involves exaggerated claims and appeals to that mythical concept of perfect safety. But when you break it down by the numbers, it just doesn't wash.
hunter2016 · 26-30, M
@QuixoticSoul I agree, but to me it is not worth the risk
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@hunter2016 Risk needs to be assessed soberly and systematically - not emotionally.

Not really.
The muslims' dont really hate "white" people, neither do arabs
@Glassysky Nevermind that white muslims exist too.
hlpflwthat · M
@AmbivalentFriability Or that millions of Arabs are Christians
Vgore0304 · 26-30, F
Because not everyone is Christian
hlpflwthat · M
My land isn't christian
Northwest · M
Judging by our other questions, you're a troll, but the question itself, is somewhat typical.

1. Arabs are people who hail from the countries that are part of the Arab League.

2. Arab is neither a race nor a religion, it's about people who share a common WRITTEN language.

3. Arabs are Muslim, Christian, Jews, and a number of other religions, some are even secular or atheist.

4. Not sure what you mean by Christian lands. If you're from the US, then you're not in Christian lands. The US is a secular nation.

5. The Arab is not the enemy of the white man. Weird how you come up with this proposition.

6. Most Muslims are not Arab.
JP1119 · 36-40, M
Why do we allow bigoted trolls like llswag on this site?
nedkelly · 61-69, M
@JP1119 I see you are American - but you are attacking this lady because of her right to free speech, you are typical left wing nutter, if they disagree with your point of view you attack them - talk about being a hypocrite
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@nedkelly You are attacking his right to free speech, which includes calling someone on their bullshit. Pot, kettle, etc.

Though on a privately owned web site like that, none of us have any special rights to self-expression - except the right not to get arrested by the state.
swirlie · 31-35, F
@Glassysky

Actually my dear, this IS the place to discuss politics... Just look at the Header at the top of your screen that says "Politics".

This website is here for the purpose of discussing whatever it is you want to discuss, assuming one goes to the correct location within the website to do so.

If you are looking to bring people together, you then are in fact the one who is in the wrong place to bring people together... try the "Community" section! That's where everyone goes to get stoned, hold hands and stand naked like groupies at a garden party.

All religion sucks donkeys nuts
@metaldog Religion is seriously Cancer. We need to abandon it.
@BetweenKittensandRiots as humans evolve it will disappear
Our Christian lands? Excuse me but America is not a Christian Nation and was in no sense founded on the christian religion.

http://addictinginfo.com/2013/07/04/35-founding-father-quotes-conservative-christians-will-hate/

-An american atheist.
LucyCan · 26-30, F
@QuixoticSoul Active Deism is about constructing supplementary arguments and evidence for God existing. This is in terms of inventing false deductive arguments and false testable evidence- which is different from a theist strictly reliant on inductive arguments and testimonial evidence. It's a matter of their specialization- whether the definition you read mentions this nefarious activity or not.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@LucyCan I never said that America was founded on deism. I said that many of the founding fathers were Deists. Which is why they worded the first amendment so carefully to make sure it preserved from us from religion as much as anything else.

The standard proof for existence of god used by most Deists is the cosmological argument, which has both inductive and deductive components. But in practice, they were more preoccupied with poking holes in Christianity, and just took it from the prevalent natural theology stuff popular at the time.
LucyCan · 26-30, F
@QuixoticSoul haha! Too quick on the draw. I removed that comment before finalizing.

I was so shocked.
Coolkid77 · 31-35, M
It's a free country.
hunter2016 · 26-30, M
Free country and open borders are not one in the same. People here are free but everyone does not have the right to come here
Coolkid77 · 31-35, M
@hunter2016 Yes I agree there, but I didn't say anything about open borders. It's still better than some of the Muslim countries.

This is a question that should be directed to the Politicians who are kissing arse, the left wing nutters, WELFARE, the do do-gooders - BUT never ask the public and they will tell the truth
i think the world would be better with out religion but then we would find some thing else to kill over it in mans nature
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@nevergiveup That and people make religion out of anything even planes lol. If we all abolished religion then something else would just become our "savior." Reminds me of Monty Python 🤔
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
Religion by itself is an abstract idea. The idea that something as abstract as religion can legally own anything else is an illogical one. 🤷

I don't care what America was founded on, when you say founded on certain principles you are limiting what the country is. This isn't the same country it was thousands or even hundreds of years ago. At one point we killed women for having miscarriages, at this point we (in America) no longer do.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
Your post is bad, and you should feel bad.
SW-User
1) freedom of religion. 2) US is becoming mostly atheist
I think that might not be entirely true
Goralski · 51-55, M
They don't in Poland
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Goralski There isn't like, a ban or anything. Not accepting refugees is not the same thing as prohibiting Muslims.
@Goralski There have been Muslims in Poland-- like forever. Tatars.
496sbc · 36-40, M
Because the muslim terrorist we had before / Obama hated white people. And made it unsafe to be an American in fact the last 4 presidents made it that way
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@496sbc Lmao
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@496sbc So unsafe.

you live with your cancer dying aunt eh?

shame, she was fuckable but you're just waste, even your penis wasn't kielbasa years ago.

stop being 50 and playing tournament D&D all alone with your hairy palms.
LucyCan · 26-30, F
I snorted. I hope you aren't serious. There's nothing wrong with them- except their religion and some of their customs. Hell, I even dated an Iranian- except they were Baha'i.
DannyVD · 26-30, M
well I dont like them either because as I saw they dont respect the country who gaved them shelter and even worse they even commit crimes
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@DannyVD What exactly did you see, and where?
Nine-in-ten U.S. Muslims agree either completely (66%) or mostly (26%) with the statement, “I am proud to be American.” Only a handful of U.S. Muslims disagree with this statement either completely (4%) or mostly (2%).

Muslim immigrants are at least as likely as U.S.-born Muslims to express pride in being American. At the same time, immigrants who have been in the U.S. for longer are somewhat more likely than recent immigrants to say they are proud to be American.

Muslim adults younger than 30 are less likely than older Muslims to say they are proud to be American. The same pattern is evident among the population as a whole.

Although both Muslim Americans and the U.S. public as a whole overwhelmingly reject violence against civilians, Muslims are more likely to say such actions can never be justified. Three-quarters of U.S. Muslims (76%) say this, compared with 59% of the general public. Similar shares of Muslims (12%) and all U.S. adults (14%) say targeting and killing civilians can “often” or “sometimes” be justified.
From Pew Research Center's demographic profile on Muslims in America.

As for crimes - all groups of people commit crimes. Muslims in America actually seem to do it at lower rates than average. If you take just the Muslim immigrants, the rates drop even further. This makes some sense, as getting deported back to the Middle East is a hefty deterrence.
ParaPacem · 22-25, T
I think that we should not let them in because they're like really transphobic
ParaPacem · 22-25, T
@AmbivalentFriability We shouldn't let the Christians into America either, you're right
hunter2016 · 26-30, M
@ParaPacem Christians believe that trans is morally wrong to them but do not "hate" anybody. Muslims believe you should be beheaded if your trans. Please don't group them together
jleeb98 · 22-25, M
@hunter2016 I assure you, plenty of people on all sides hate equally. Mainstream Christianity may not hate transgender people, but there are plenty of fringe groups that claim Christian beliefs and act out of nothing but hatred.
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
If you're in the US, it's because there is no state religion. Believe it or not, freedom is valued there.

Because Donald Trump is a practicing Muslim.

@hlpflwthat

Nor the truth which he only shares with his hair stylist as he sits under the dryer.

They have the best dryers. Lovely dryers - you've never seen dryers till you've seen these dryers. The best.

"Christian lands"? "The Arab is the enemy of the White man"?

Let me guess... you work for big 'D' in the West Wing? Say it isn't so!
