Did Trump tweet about Britain First to distract people from his tax plan?

The Dead Cat strategy strikes again. The tax plan is good for plutocrats and bad for a lot of people in his base. Best rile up people on Twitter by re-tweeting anti-Muslim videos by a British far-right group in the hope that 'populist' voters don't notice the real economic agenda.

I can't believe we are going to have to deal with a tax plan AGAIN in our lives that somehow thinks trickle-down economics will work.

@eli1601 That's what everyone thinks when you just walk away like that.

In all honesty I get it, you're being dogpiled on a bit and are defensively lashing out. It's understandable to circle the wagons and get into a contrarian posture.

But I hope you at least kept one eye open. You're at the age where you probably have a lot of money sitting out there in the market, and it's important to grasp how this stuff works. If you misunderstand the role of profit and what it represents in corporate finance, it might affect your investment decisions.

@QuixoticSoul I have done very well. Probably the smartest thing was to not only stand pat, but increase my stock market investments in and after 2008. I retired in March.

Ah, good ole P/E ratios. The Dow is at 24,000 and people are excited, but when you look at P/E ratios, you'll see that we're currently in bubble territory. In 2000, even the smart people got greedy, and were left holding the bag. In 2008, people lost their life savings.

Still, psychologically, people still think it will not happen to them, as they get all excited looking at their 401K statements.

Our friend here, is this thread, has said more than he ever has. He used to confuse. His only response to any post I did, was "idiot". For a while, I thought this was his name, and my instinct was to say "hi idiot, nice to meet you, I am Northwest. Do you know any other words?"

Elasticity of demand, it's a simple concept, but let's stick to rhetoric.

He is a racist who enjoys the approval of other racists. It makes him feel better. The Tax Plan was going quite well. If anything the tweets would have made it easier for senators to vote against it. But, they are craven anyway.

Yes of course he did. The only thing that resembles strategy in his administration is deflection and obfuscation.
Of course, he did. What the hell is he talking about Jersualem for now, if not to create chaos and distraction?

Who's pulling his strings? How about everyone?

The problem is, in a democracy, once a demagogue has seized power, and starts to enjoy it, how do you deal with it it?
romper69 · 51-55, M
Nah, he probably tweeted during his morning bowel movement, lowering his IQ even further.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
Are long as the loonies and the world of politically correct people have nothing else to do except worry about Trump
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@nedkelly We should ALL worry about Trump, the guy has blatant mental health issues.

I'm not sure it has anything to do with his tax plan. He's been doing campaign stops, telling his followers what to think of the tax plan. They believe him, and that's all that counts.

The Britain First tweets are consistent with his campaign agenda, and to remind his followers that he remain the same good ole xenophobe they elected. It's vintage Trump. It will be interesting to see of May will stick to her position, or capitulate.

@eli1601 Tax cuts for the rich are OK so long as he is also mean about Muslims? 😜
eli1601 · 70-79, M
@Burnley123 Well you can't cut taxes on people who don't pay any.
