Does anyone still think that gays ought not to be allowed to get married?

If so, why not?
What I find cute is the "family values" argument.

Two women who are into each other can't get married. To save the family. Society. To stop degeneracy. What about the children. God will hate it.

cough

But a some dude who is a degenerate alcoholic with a stable of children he doesn't support and a history of domestic violence and serial adultery-- can dive into his third marriage.

sound of applause and general cheer leading in the background

And it's the first one, the two women, who threaten society. Not the second one.

@GreensCornbreadYams bull crap a stupid book of fiction written 3000 years ago to subjugate the masses especially women

Of course they shouldn't. It's disrespectful to family values.
USAalltheway · 31-35, M
No, you're the one who's determined to be offended. That's what liberals do.

@Celine No, I called you out on being a liberal and then you called me a troll, I guess because liberals aren't so tolerant after all.

Hmmmhmhmhm 🤔
If I had to speculate why people still have problems with gay marriages, here are the only possible options I counted, so far:

1. The leading probable cause of opposition is probably religious standards
2. Procreation simply just doesn't work without specifically male to female relations
3. Gays are typically ostracized and aren't a group you typically want to be a part of, due to their high minority status and deviation from (quite literally) antediluvian tradition
4. Sexual diseases are extremely high among the homosexual male community, which steers those that aren't open-minded to believe that this is from some kinda "predestined outcome" I guess of some sort? .-. I dunno
Like, if you aren't having sex the normal way, then THAT'S what happens. Feel me?

I dunno what other reasons there would be that somebody would be against gay marriage tho besides these :v
Lemme know if I missed something

Every sexual orientation should get to experience the same misery that straight people get to go through.

I believe marriage is a man and a woman.

@PissAndVinegar @Celine One of you I have known a while and are friends with- the other not so much. but we should all know that last boomer exists only to obfuscate, argue and be be an obstructionist. Seldom does he speak any sense. Garbled nonsense mostly.

My dear friend, great point about society in Russia and the culture of homophobia there. It is progressing, but slowly(No-I am from the US, to those who may wonder) )

I think it is foolish to think that anyone has any right to stop someone from marrying whom ever they choose. This is the 21st century after all, most of the world isn't primitive any more.
Damn, girl. Just looking at this question bugs me, and I've been known to ask some snarky questions myself. But it really seems like you're trolling for nutcases big time here, with the first part.

People still believe that gay people shouldn't be able to marry, just like people deny climate change has a man-made component and that the holocaust didn't happen. People even think Trump's a good person.

I have no clue why people really think any of these things.

It’s nobodys business who they marry. Why should I care? If they found someone and are happy, then I’m happy for them.
Being OF the LGBT community I was never against it. And I'm OLD! Meaning an oddity for my generation.

As the definition of marriage changed so did mine.
@SW-User how so?
SW-User
@CopperCicada ...once the culture made the definition to no longer limit marriage to same-sex couples.
All people deserve their own chance at happiness

I do. But it is my opinion, I am due to it as much as they voice their own view. I believe in man and woman....ying and yang...night and day...lock and key etc....there are exceptions of course but I maintain my view and that's it.
