Do you think a Second Brexit Referendum will reverse decision to leave EU?

The way forward on Brexit is a new vote on whatever EU deal is reached
Andrew Adonis The Observer

The decision of the British people to leave the European Union could be reversed next year if France and Germany agree that the UK can take control over immigration while staying in the EU single market, the former Labour cabinet minister Lord Adonis said on Sunday.

With concern over the government’s handling of Brexit growing ahead of a key parliamentary vote on Monday, the peer said Angela Merkel, who is expected to be re-elected as German chancellor later this month, and French president Emmanuel Macron could well make such an offer if they believe it could mean the UK remaining in the EU.

Writing in the Observer, Adonis said he believes a majority of peers in the House of Lords will support an amendment to the EU withdrawal bill – now passing through the Commons – requiring another referendum before Brexit takes effect, with the options being to accept the deal on offer, or stay in the EU.

And a third or a fourth one until remain wins. Democracy in 2017 is a bad joke.

@thatscottishguy The same goes for Scotland. Independence is independence. It is not leaving home and bringing dirty clothes to mommy.

Even if the pound was ours first? Anyway I have no reason to argue for that. I don't want the pound and I sure as fuck wouldn't want the euro😂.

Oh and England ain't our mummy. More of an abusive husband.

Feeling withdrawal symptoms here. Had so many votes in recent times we don't know what to do when not voting. I think the whole thing has been handled badly. Not to bring this up too much 😂 but a referendum run in a certain counrtry to the north had a clear white paper set out straight away and it was a lot clearer what was being voted on. The EU one was just a Tory party dispute that got out of hand. I think once everything is settled and we know the terms and conditions so to speak a referendum shouldn't be out of the question. Also that other country should have another referendum soon😂.

One thing I cannot help noticing is that the 'nazi-fascist-islamophobe' French National Front simply accepted their defeat in elections, while the 'tolerant democratic liberals' have tried anything to question Brexit and Trump's victories, and still do it. It is ok, let them show their true colours, let them show they believe in democracy as long as they agree with the results only.

@Cierzo Accepted the result but I am sure they want to do better at the next elections and get rid of Macron right? If it had went the other way I am sure you would want another.

If Merkel actually gets reelected Britain will get its way. Merkel is absolutely spineless and thinks more about everything else than Germany.

@sogdianrock if a second referendum doesn't take place, I can't wait to tell people I told you so - the country will be in a such a worse state than it already is. (Don't get me started on the Boris Bikes across London!).

hi mynameisray ·
Saying I told you so will be a poor compensation. Far better agree to restrict immigration and stay in EU.
best wishes
:)
