Have you ever had aspirations to become a politician?

For a very short time, but when I was in high school I realized I had too much of a verifiable online presence saying things that ran radically against public morality and folk wisdom. Politicians cannot help but be liars by omission - they need to rally public support while hoping to diminish the intensity of opposition to them (if possible). You can't leave your thoughts on every little topic of controversy in any really gory detail and think that shit won't show up somewhere. And if I got into politics, the point would be to try to do some public good (and who knows how jaded I'd be by the end of it?) - not to spend worthwhile time explaining or defending this or that point of minutia or apologizing to every little group I might have offended. That alone would be enough to drive me utterly mad.

I could see you as a person who wanted to make a difference to the lives of others through what you could achieve In the political arena, but at the expense of your own health. I think I am actually repeating what you have said but in other words. Politics may not be for you but I see you as a person who would thrive doing something where you help others in some form or another.
