Though war seems unlikely, I don't think they'll come to a quick resolution anytime soon either. Might be a situation in which both sides bunker in and just watch each other for a while.

India got pissy with Russia for selling newer weapons to Pakistan but the bigger picture won over. They have too many things going on with each other and have too much invested in their loose alliance between the Russia/India/China bloc. It is less formal then say the G7 or even the BRICS but there is just too much at stake for tantrums.
