I Want Super Powers
What super power would you want? I'd go with invisibility.

Immortality, what would basically be an immunity from death and disease. It would make life a lot more easy to cope with. Even if I was poor, I would garner an immense amount of wisdom and benefit from a sense of health and vitality forever. I would probably eventually become the perfect spectator of society. As society evolved, I would gain more knowledge and thus I would evolve, and then I could contribute more to society and feel I have a greater stake in its well being if I were trapped in that society forever. And I would try to help society too. If I'm gonna live forever, I might as well try and be the paragon of citizenry.

That's true. I wonder what it would be like after the destruction of earth. I guess you'd just be floating around in space.

I was thinking, since we subconsciously know we're gonna die, we probably feel like we have less of a stake in society, but if I was immortal I would definitely invest time in society to ensure that it doesn't end up in the destruction of Earth. Like it's hard to have a passion about politics and the world stage when you know you're just gonna die within 100 years time. Even with offspring, it wouldn't be enough motivation for me to really be interested in the betterement of Earth. It's just too much stress. But without death, I would have all the time in the world to build up my wealth and become a politically active member of society who doesn't have to work just to survive.

@blackwhitejester: That's true, but I was thinking about the destruction as a result of something from space, such as the sun enlarging. I know that's several billion years out.
