There are some places I can drive to without thinking
If I have a lot on my mind, my brain goes on autopilot

@JimboSaturn yeah it really does!
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Bubbles But when a person cuts you off or traffic comes to an abrupt halt, you seem to snap out of it and put on your brakes, it's wierd.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
I used to do that a lot when I commuted to work. I’d be lost in thought or talking to somebody and suddenly be pulling into work.
Bubbles · 36-40, F
@Keepitsimple yep that happened to me today, was just driving to get some breakfast though. Was listening to music and then just all of a sudden I was at the restaurant. It was weird
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@Bubbles Winding up at a restaurant is better than work 🤗
Coppercoil · M
This is my life.. like how I feel about how I got to where I am in life. Just wonder how I managed to get myself here.
Bubbles · 36-40, F
@Coppercoil haha ok that is deep
Tracos · 51-55, M
too often.... and then I really have to think back to check if I honored all the traffic lights
4meAndyou · F
That used to happen sometimes. I would drive right past my exit.
Yah i love it and the trees i have real life dead eye. And im a very good driver i always am aware as if the car is only an extension of me i have never been in a car accident my reaction time i tell yah... Is like crazy i prevented a car accident one time because a dum lady crossed with her car at the wrong time she was lucky im fast and always have my eyes on the road
Bubbles · 36-40, F
@TimingQuasars wonderful!
@Bubbles Thanks! I could drive you around i could prbably be a good race car driver rn.. I would just practice the roads haha im very aware in those kinds of activitys
PhoenixPhail · M
That called a dissociation. People do it all the time. And not just with driving.
Elegy · 46-50
Yep... when my mind is elsewhere.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
Yes and its an awful feeling. 😯
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
Yeah and it scared the shit out of me
Bubbles · 36-40, F
@HoraceGreenley haha yep same here
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
All the time. Especially on my journey to work. Just shows your the power of your sub-conscience mind. Driving becomes so routine it bypassed your conscience mind.
Bubbles · 36-40, F
@JimboSaturn so true, it's like I can do it without even thinking about it. It's a weird concept
Grateful4you · M
Yes, it's like an altered state and a little bewildering at first. After years of long distance driving you tend to get used to it.
Bubbles · 36-40, F
@Grateful4you yes it is a very strange feeling
Poppies · 61-69, F
Thinking "how did I get here" after arriving at the destination is a lot better than "where am I going" while still driving!
Byron8by7 · M
Yes, sometimes when driving on a road trip, on the Interstate highway. Not when driving locally, however.
jackson55 · M
Driving long distances and listening to music I’ve zoned out and missed the last 20 miles.
froggtongue · M
Your brain probably thought the trip was so boring, it purposefully forgot it.
Bubbles · 36-40, F
@froggtongue sounds about right
Oneofthestormboys · 100+, M
Yes indeed. It’s pretty therapeutic for me, and I don’t mind it at all 😃
Bubbles · 36-40, F
@Oneofthestormboys it freaks me out!
coolashton · 26-30, M
I don't have a license to drive.
Bubbles · 36-40, F
@coolashton oh well dang!
