my dog died (Lucy) ... at 2 years and 2 months.. she got hit by a var and died instantly from head trauma. How long is it normal to grief ?

It's a painful to my family. it took a lot because it was so suddenly. we buried her in the backyard and it was extremely painful. she was everything and she died to young.. the next day ; me and my brother found out the house was too empty and painful without our missing family member... we adopt a dog from pet co. she is 4 years old and a husky mix. were we too fast?

Grieving is tricky. We all do it differently and if you feel that you still need to grieve then grieve. But if your grief means a life has a new home, that's a good thing and you can still grieve even with this new puppy dog in your life. Its alright. I can imagine you must still be heartbroken and that's alright. You'll love this new dog with all your heart and if you feel maybe it was too soon, then perhaps it was but that's alright too. Because you can still continue to grieve, that's alright and you can take all the time in the world and at the same time you've given a life a new place to live. 馃檪

No, and Lucy and the new one are happy you did that. I'm sorry for your loss. I think it's great you gave a new one a home.
