Is It Calming To Chant Phrases?

One of my parakeets, Boo Boo, has chanted every afternoon, usually late afternoon, for over a year. He says one of two phrases...either “I don’t believe it” or “What a cute bird” and he’ll do it for a few minutes very rapidly.

@Eddiesolds They talk a lot. It’s been rainy and this is the second day in a row they couldn’t go out into the sunroom so they’ve been pretty chatty. Yesterday I got up to start making dinner and one of them asked me “What are we getting?” Like I was supposed to make them something for dinner too.

@AntisocialTroll I don’t know how these birds come up with some of their things they do. They made up a game I call “Thank You”. One of them will start saying Thank you over and over and then the other will start saying You right after the first one says Thank...they go back and forth a few minutes doing that .Reminds me of “Marco Polo” that kids do. And they give each of us a name based on a phrase we say. My name is “Get in there” because when they get out of the cage I will catch them and say that when I put them back in their cage. And they call the boy “Are you OK?” Because he says it quite a bit.
