Over A Week Of Temperatures That Will Remain Below Freezing For The Entire Time....

I am worried about the feral cat, it’s never been in such an extended cold time. The meteorologists are forecasting record-setting period of time.

You can get a couple of boxes . Wrap them with Saran Wrap , cut a flap on each end and weight them down with a rock or bricks and put them in area where the cats stay . They will find them and get in there ... or a piece of plywood laid over...anything to keep them dry and out of the wind . Most will get up under cars

@TexChik I remember living in an apartment complex with a large laundry and seeing feral cats sitting next to where the dryer vents came out they were trying to get some of the warmth, after a few hours of that a black cat would be covered pretty good with dryer lint.

@cherokeepatti well at least it will have options

@TexChik If I find it half-frozen it probably won’t put up much of a fight if I can take it into the sun room and put my portable space heater with a fan on it. But finding it will be the problem.

I don't remember seeing snow so often ever!

@KuroNeko Well we’ve had some snow that’s stuck this winter after about 4 winters that weren’t real winters. I remember some winters in the 70’s and 80’s where we had a lot of snow that stayed on the ground till we got other storms. One year we had snow on the ground for 6 weeks. Just hoping the long freeze won’t damage the pipes or landscaping but that it will kill the bugs. Mosquitoes & earwigs especially, they seemed to have increased every year for a long time.

@cherokeepatti When I was a kid in the 80's we lived a lot higher up so we would get proper snow at least once a year. Down on the flat where I live now we've had nothing for years. Now it's snowing every other week.

@KuroNeko I felt like for over 20 years that the weather was being manipulated. I live in Oklahoma and we had a great number of violent record-setting damages-type tornadoes, we had record floods, record rainfalls, and two years of record-droughts & heat, wildfires, etc. Now it seems like it might have stopped. It is strange.

We've been lucky so far this winter, no below freezing temps.....😌 yet

You can make a little house for it by cutting a cat sized hole in a disposable Styrofoam cooler. Put a towel or something in it.

If its windy tape the lid down and make sure the cooler is attached to sometimes.
