What is your favourite memory of your pet?

So many it's hard to choose. I had a very special dog, a true Hero at heart.

A friend's child had a medical condition that would cause internal bleeding if scratched or bruised. My dog knew where it was OK to touch him without causing harm. He would sniff him all over, and then gently place his paw on one of the few spots that were safe. He knew that the child wanted interaction, but he had to be careful.馃惡馃弲

A friend came over for a barbecue, and brought his newborn son. He laid out a blanket in the living room, and set the baby down on the blanket. Bluedog watched and waited...
After the baby was settled, Dad looked at Bluedog and said, "Watch the baby."
Bluedog positioned himself on the blanket so that he blocked any approach to the baby, and no one was allowed to come near.
I did not intentionally teach him this, he just knew.馃惡馃弲

Hiking in the hills with Bluedog and a bull was laying in the brush. I startled the bull, which brought on a full charge...
Bluedog saved my ass!!馃惡馃弲

Walking at night with Bluedog and a couple were arguing in the street. A girl in a car and a guy standing outside the car threatening her. She was clearly frightened. He started to try breaking the window, and Bluedog stepped into the street and growled at the guy. The guy paused, looked at Bluedog, looked at me, and said,"You better control your dog!!"
I said, "You better listen to the dog!".
The guy decided it was a better idea to leave...馃惡馃弲

I have so many stories about how awesome my Bluedog was. 馃槩I miss him a lot!! He was a once in a lifetime dog. People used to swear that we could communicate with each other.

We had a dog that had a part of his face was swollen. Took him to the vet and they did test and couldn't figure out where it was coming from. The vet just open up the part that was swollen to drain it out. Well it wouldn't heal at all. So my mom took him to a specialist in the city. He stayed with the vet for about a week while they did test. They learned he just had a bad tooth. He told us to come get him and take him home. Omg he was sooo excited to see me and my mom. I cried I was sooo happy for him. I do miss that dog a lot now

My dog was a shih tzu/maltese mix. So tiny and cute. I enjoyed watching him and the cat play with each other. My dog was part acrobat and clown trying to escape the cat from swatting him. I miss that. When he died we got another shih tzu who has been my loyal companion from day one. 馃槉馃惗

Had a budgie that was a prolific talker and would happily sit on your finger when out of its cage. And it liked to join in with the dawn chorus which was a little annoying...

Our old cat growling at his own reflection in the back window. And our other cat running back and forth trying to figure out what he was upset about.
When my dog would jump on my bed and lay his bed down on the pillow beside mine and lick my face. He was one of the family can you tell lol 馃槀

I had a malamute that I liked a lot. So intelligent. Almost a human being.

My pet is in doggie heaven...

But...when she was a tiny tiny puppy I had to leave her at my apartment while I went to work. I had her in the kitchen and had the doorway to the rest of the apartment blocked. She found her way over the huge pile of milk crates and stuff and I came home to find her sleeping in a pile of my clothes. I will never grasp how she got over the hurdle I created!

Picking him out. There were so many, like 15 and all of them laid in a huge fluffy stinky pile. So adorable.

My first dog used to like to ride the boogie board in our pool but bark like mad whenever my head was under water.
