This wee darling won't let me sleep.

She wakes me up at dawn by pulling the blinds up at dawn and by clawing at my Bipap machine which is expensive and sensitive. Then the "love" scratches and nips begin.
She doesn't want food or water or games or cuddles: she just wants me UP.
Anyone have a similar situation?

Lol. I think most cat owners go through that. They're up, which means you should be too! 😂

@SW-User Yep, cat logic.
Zaphod42 · 46-50, M
Yep, my lil guy too. Between 6 and 7am every day 😅😻
Zaphod42 · 46-50, M
@Cavedweller Yep. Pets and loves followed by morning dental treats and his cat door unlocked 😂
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@Zaphod42 So he's an indoor/outdoor boy? Same with my girls. What's his curfew?
Zaphod42 · 46-50, M
@Cavedweller I have him trained to come in at sunset for wet food, lol

I did. I changed that by putting out extra food the night before and leaving the sliding door slightly ajar all night. He is so absorbed by the outside he has forgotten to bother me.

Another thing that helped me was that I faked like I was going to hit him when he kept clawing at my hair. He poked a sharp claw into my scalp, so I lunged with my arm like I was going to smack him and he ran.

He is still loving, trusts me as much as he will ever trust anyone or anything, but he doesn't pull that stuff when I am sleeping anymore.

@4meAndyou I always leave food in their bowls at night.
But they definitely stay in overnight. For the sake of local wildlife and not being run over.

@Cavedweller My little guy can't go outside either. I live on the 4th floor of an apartment building, and when I open the sliding door it's like opening a window, with the screen closed.
lol cats.

My can't is much more chill. She yells at me in the morning but if i ignore her then she just leaves.
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@Pikachu I try to ignore her but she gets awful scratchy and bitey..
@Cavedweller

lol yeah that makes it harder.

I have parakeets and the oldest female will chirp loudly over and over before the light of dawn. If I tell her to be quiet & it’s cold outside & I’ll put her in the sunroom when it warms up she will settle down for awhile.
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@cherokeepatti That's too cool!!!!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Cavedweller One day I came home from shopping all afternoon, put my key in the front door and heard one of the parakeets say “Get in there”...they knew I was home. Sometimes they say “Where you been?” when I come back home.

@cherokeepatti My aunt's cocky was fond of dancing. It would bob it's head and shimmy, especially to the Beatles. But if you asked him to dance he'd tell you to get fucked. He had a foul mouth. Or beak.

She's sweet 💖
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@SW-User She is. But sometimes I like to lie in..
ExtremeNext · 31-35
That's what they do, even more reason to love them
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@ExtremeNext Still, I could probably do with an extra hour in bed.
ExtremeNext · 31-35
@Cavedweller lock it in a spare room
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@ExtremeNext She'd howl the place down.

Edit: only meant to mention the dawn once.
