The Environment!!! Are you tired of waiting for politicians who won't win who want to spend 2 trillion dollars on green new deals?

I am. Not one of them has mentioned planting trees. If you want to plant trees, without doing it yourself, or if you don't have a yard, but you are worried about our carbon footprint and want to donate to a proven cause:

https://www.nationalforests.org/donate/thank-you-for-planting-trees

These folks are going to plant 10 trees a month for me now. 10 trees every month!!! At least I am doing SOMETHING!! Unlike our political poodle heads.

BTW, I checked out this foundation on Charity Navigator, and they are rated 4 stars.

ONE tree will absorb 48 lbs of carbon per year!!!!

Each American puts out just over 21 tons of carbon per year! That means each American needs to plant 909 trees each year to offset their own carbon footprint! That's 91 trees a month.

Ok, so I couldn't afford to spend $91 per month...but at least I am doing something.

And imagine if we ALL did even a little bit. We could cover the burned out forests in the west with trees again.

And if I ever win the lottery, I am definitely donating $91 a month!

When politicians talk about a "green" economy it's usually in the form of tax credits for buying solar panels or light bulbs made in China (the world's greatest polluter), or about dishing out big $$$ to friends of politicians like Solyndra.

Or how about "cash for clunkers" that took affordable used cars off the market, and make it even harder for poor people who are trapped in inner-city housing projects to get to jobs that had moved to the suburbs?

I like your idea better. Start by planting trees in your own back yard. Press our local government for more green space, with trees. Turn flood-basins into rain forests, and plan trees along our interstate highways.

@Heartlander Yup. Someone on here was giving me a hard time about the future intentions of the National Forest Foundation toward "my" trees, so I actually left them a message this afternoon asking for more clarification.

If all goes well, I'll post the website and more information again.

I remember when planting a tree was supposed to save the planet.

@4meAndyou Yeah...yeah, that was right, cause of what you and that guy wrote on here.

Lucky i didn't turn blue, goddamn you conservatives.

Now you have turned into a tree hugger.

@Wol62 Hey, Dude...I have ALWAYS been a tree hugger...and I voted for Obama...and I voted for Trump...and I am just a cornucopia of conflicting feelings, causes, and loves.

Thanks for the link.

The companies that pay for tree planting only do it so they can cut down old growth forests.

@Dadbod52 The National Forest Foundation plants inside National Forests.
