@rckt148 I'm in northern Canada so AC is just not a thing. Unfortunately the windows my house are all built wrong for AC as well so I gotta spend a bunch of money to get my hosue to a point where I can have ether local AC or central. Sigh. Yet ie keeps getting hotter.

@CountScrofula My Uncle was my landlord ,and my central AC was putting more air under the house then inside ,
I bought the duct work myself and all the connections ,I wanted him to have a professional AC man install everything and service the unit ,,it was costing me $600.00 a month in power bills running it ,he kept putting it off and it was 100 inside ,,I had to do something quick .
So to shame him into doing it ,I took plywood and covered my front door opening and stuck a 220 unit in it .I ran a new electrical service from the main box ,its done right but it is in my front door .

That was like 5 yrs ago ,its still there ,,
I was going to cut a hole and frame it up right and seal and trim it out ,,but its a really good AC so I am not permanently installing it or by law I have to leave it

But I just got my loan for a new house ,that has a good central air and heat unit ,,but I am taking my AC
no repairs needed ,,take the plywood down and close the door again LOL

I have kept the repairs up on this place out of my own pocket for 24 yrs ,,it was all about principle ,,not the AC
I have paid this place off for him ,that was the least he could have done
