My male canary is sparking joy again...trying to sing...what do your pets do to spark joy?

Canaries sing (or try to, in your case) when they are happy. My male cockatiel gets mad if you don't tell him exactly where you're going when he sees me put my coat on. He knows it means I'm going out - even if it's just to the trash cans out back. But if I put on my coat and say, "I'm going out to check on the mail", that's different. If I come back with envelopes or a magazine in my hands, he will inquire, "Mail?" like there is something there meant for him.

@MaryJanine haha yeah I tell them when I am going somewhere. I had a cat and one time went into the bathroom and closed the door and she didn’t know I was in there, she walked all through the apartment calling me like a mama cat calls for her kittens when they wander off. So I started telling her each time I left the apartment because she probably did that a lot when I’d leave and she didn’t know it.

@luctoretemergo I had a cat who would wave her tail back and forth when I did something nice for her, like laying the afghan down on the bed and telling her she could sleep there.

Cat's are mysterious - we've always had dogs but cat's are a totally different animal (that's me stating the obvious!). This will mortify people but our dog sleeps with us. In the winter she's like a hot water bottle! :)

My terriepoo is such a jokester, doing little tricks to get a scrap, and when I say, " Mr. Carlson, do you want to take a walk?" he jumps up and down and yelps for joy!

My cat plays with his toys and becomes a wild cat for a while. His eyes become enormous and he chases around the apartment knocking into things and creating chaos in his wake.

@cherokeepatti Exactly like! He will skid on the throw rugs and they stick to his claws and freak him out, then he will crash into the bedroom door. He's sort of like a pinball...😂
