I can say without ego that all my dogs have been rescues;some were special needs, some terminally ill.No talk was ever necessary.The look in their eyes said it all;thank you for giving me a loving home,thank you for taking me off death row though i'd committed no crime.Thank you for easing my pain and suffering with these medications you give me.I gave them lots of love and attention.It was an honor and privilege to have had them in my life and of course i was with them til the very end.Truly their species is much more noble than ours.

@WildHeart when you see animals which are being put on the execution block through no fault of their own, or who were bred by idiots thinking that they would make huge profits with no work (including Amish puppy mills!), or people mistreating them in all manner of ways...if you cannot see their anguish, their pain & sorrow...then you have no compassion, no milk of human kindness.

I am compelled to help. I wish that I could change the hearts & minds of people and save all animals from abuse...

I opened the sunroom door yesterday and was rolling the vacuum cleaner out to clean it and walked past the bird’s cages and my female parakeet, Kiwi, asked me what I was doing. The parakeets make all kinds of comments and ask simple questions too.

@wellsaid I believe that if a pet is given, food, shelter,water, medical attention when needed and lots and lots of love etc... this animal will not need freedom from his loved one.
