Do you think dogs should be crated or left to roam the house?

I think it depends how long you are going to be gone for.

Crated if they are destructive. Some dogs love the crate, it's their den.

Left to roam if they are not destructive... It's their home too

Right now we’re crating the younger dog, while allowing the older dog to roam when we’re away for a number of hours. If they’ve both urinated recently and I’m just going for a quick run to a local store, I’ll leave them both out. When we’re asleep, the bedroom door is closed and they are on the bed with us.

It really depends on the living situation and the dog's behavior.

I don't lock my dogs in crates. The door to the backyard is left open for them when I am gone, they sure run their patrol. LOL.

Feels kind of wrong to lock them up... but sometimes you've gotta.

they should be eaten. they are very tasty

I hate putting them in their cages, but they are far too destructive to leave to roam free without supervision. Had really nice hardwood blinds get torn through. They also get way too excited when a neighbor dog walks by and might actually break a window some day...

Roam around, when I'm away she has the whole yard and shelter.
