Anyone have any cool fishing stories?

Does anyone have any crazy fishing stories? All I got is my cousin got a hook stuck in his leg and it took a while to get out

Not crazy, just what I experienced in my younger days.
I was brought up on the West Coast of Tasmania.
From the early 70s to the late 80s I used to go fishing at the small coastal community of Strahan and Macquarie Harbour.
[image deleted]My best friend had a 10' dingy powered by a small Seagull outboard. Started with a rip cord.
Often we would go out fishing on the harbour using hand lines. Very often we would be lucky enough to encounter a large school of Cod.
So large, in numbers, that all we had to do was drop our line in and within seconds pull up large Cod. Sometimes we could fill the dingy within 1/2 an hour. Talking about 50 or 60 Cod.
These were appreciable size fish. 2' long,6 to 8" across the belly. Not a fisherman's exaggeration either.
The only part I did not like about this was they all had to be scaled and gutted.
Fish that size have a lot of insides. The stench was very odorous.
We also used to camp at the Braddon River which flowed into the harbour. This River was choc-a-bloc full of eels..
As an adjunct to this story, when I moved to Esperance in WA I had had my fill of cleaning stinky fish.
Even so, I used to go fishing off the Pier with a bunch of friends and we would have a cook up. The only draw back to this was, what ever we caught individually, we had to scale and gut.
Well, I said I was over my fish cleaning days so to get around that I would not put any bait on my line. So I never caught any fish.
Still got a feed though. I was simply known as a useless fisherman.
Good times indeed.

years ago my brother and son were on a party boat off the jersey shore for tuna when something hit my sons line and ran like crazy. the captain gave him a few minutes then cut the line saying it was one big shark that they weren't equipped to handle

I once caught a fish.
The first trout i caught, my parents friend tricked me into thinking i caught by slipping off the boat, finding my lure and placing the fish there. I must have been 4 or 5. Lol

@lulaluboo oh my gosh hahaha
My brother and cousin won't take me anymore because I complained too much. Now I'd give anything to go again. Miss them bunches.

My bro took my cousins favorite pole out and lost it in the lake because he was attacked by bees. They still bicker about it to this day.
