I grew up on a farm and every morning for about 4 months my dad would walk out to get the cows. He was followed by a pig with a hernia, a sheep, two dogs and several cats. He would go about a mile and call "Come Boss Come Boss" then turn around and walk back, Followed by the pig the sheep the dogs the cats and the cows.

@hippyjoe1955 The old cat would follow me when she was really pregnant. Tennishoes was a Maine Coon, about fifteen pounds and very fluffy. Was great in the winter. I'd wrap her around my neck and she'd just sit there purring.

@cherokeepatti I used to yell "comeboss" too. Usually didn't need the dog for that. Only when they were way down in the pasture. Cindy was a border collie. All I had to do was move my arms to show her which way to herd them and she'd do it. Very smart dog but very tempormental.
