My sister has a dog she wants to give me.

I have pets. When I go off on a little trip I make arrangements for my 4 legged friends. As a rule my step-granddaughter comes by after work and fills the bowls and cleans the cat litter.
Now my sister is moving, and insisting I take her Apple Head Chihuahua.
I was hesitant. She is only able to bring one pet to the condo. I don't know this breed. Does anyone in here know much about them? She sounds cute. Yet something is holding me back. Sister is moving into a Condo and is limited on the pets brought in. SO, even if I were to find another home for little Nellie, My sister would be horribly upset with me. Scared to death I might step on the little tike.
I did hint to her that making this commitment sight unseen as not something I do lightly... and she then gets angry with me.
Any thoughts from the Audience?

No way could I ever say 'yes' till I saw how the dog reacted to my existing pets. A chihuahua will be smaller than most adult cats. They're a breed that can be aggressive toward other dogs & pets.

I'd call it ballsy to expect someone to take responsibility for a pet, when they choose not to do so. And pretty or not, that's what your sis chose to do when she bought the condo. Maybe the value/price of the dog makes her assume anyone would want it?

@hlpflwthat I LOVE the pets I have. They are well behaved. This new one isn't even house broke. (She uses Pee Pads)I was never all that close to my sister and now she's throwing THAT in m face.
Oh well. Suppose I have to take this. And weigh the conflicts that come. Hope that when she moves in she will want her back.

Saw the breed on the Internet. Looks like the kind that little old ladies take with them when they go shoping.

I will find a way to either make this work or return this creature. I didn't like the fact that she thinks SHE is doing me a favor in giving me this dog.
Feel as if I am backed in a corner....All began when I told her, if she has to give up one dog, then let me have her 'Mini Pin'

I don't know about you, but I don't think I'd take the Chihuahua....they are "yapper dogs"...lol

I hope you also research the breed yourself

@Fernie I looked up a photo on the internet and it does look cute. However I am not the 'cutesy type'
I doubt my cat will be a problem. However my Pug may feel jealous.

@Carla1951 I meant research the behaviors and disposition of that breed so it won't end badly for the dog
