Do you find deserted islands appealing?

If so, is it perhaps because you need to escape from the normal humdrum of city life? Noisy, excessive lights, pollution, concrete, concrete, concrete...

I have actually been to islands that a family built a fine home there and a guest house ,
Their only communication with the outside world was an FM Marine radio and the Marine Operator which is expensive to use just to make phone calls ,and the Coast Guard for emergencies ,and that is how I met them ,the old man had a heart attack and we medivacked him out .
They invited us back and I went several times and loved it out there but I did not want to abuse their kindness ,they were there to escape being around people ,
But my life is peaceful and I answer to no one ,I live in the country so its peaceful ,,but I do wish from time to time I was back on the island with them .
It was years ago and I am sure they have both passed away by now ,
But my ex used to ask me all the time when I was going to take her to Fantasy Island ,,I never got the chance ,but I still have the place in my mind
it is a place I still think of often ,,it really was fantasy Island .
They had power and AC ,TV everything you would find in any home ,just no phone
and it was close to Miami but far enough away they were secluded ,
I always felt ,those people had it made ,,
Where I grew up there are lots of islands ,but its in a national park ,
you can camp there but you can't set up a homestead ,,
but unlike the island I spoke of that had a constant ocean breeze ,
the islands in my home town are blocked by the beach ridge from to much wind ,
so take lots of mosquito spray ,you'll need it

@rckt148 How the time has gone by...

I think I often think of that film 'Castaway' with Tom Hanks when I picture in my mind the deserted island.

Getting away from people is a huge pull to a deserted ialand. Just be sure to have a ball, like Wilson.

Yes, because there aren't any people

@SW-User I've been an introvert for a loooong time and I'm in my comfort zone mostly, I think, when I'm not around people.

"But also, people love hurting me, so I stay away."
Sorry. It may seem like that, but I think hurting people often hurt people.

@Andrew19EightyFive I'm in my comfort zone too when I'm not around people.

@SW-User I recent times, I think I've kind of forced myself out of that comfort zone and that I've gradually grown more comfortable around people. But I still feel relatively self-conscious and uncomfortable... seemingly especially if I withdraw for a while and then try get back into it.

I love the city though
SW-User
Yes. I generally have a need to retreat from society and the world.
