What is the most unusual pet you had as a kid?

This guy up the street had an idea when a friend gave him a donkey. He got a used saddle and bridal and with plans... attempted to offer 'pony rides' for a minimal charge. Alas, the donkey refused to have anyone on his back. It was my sister that was at least able to get the saddle on and stay in it till the donkey gave up and laid down. Ole 'Dusty' at last had a home. He didn't like baths much tho. Yes he came to live with my sister and. I didn't mind brushing him, but never tried to swing my leg over as did my Sister.

We had a dog and later my brother kept rabbits and i had Guinea Pigs !
Although when we first moved in with my grandad, he had two Parrots!
So at one time it must have been quite a menagerie !!

We had a chicken. It slept with our dog and it would chase people out of our backyard. xD

@Nadie I too had a few chickens. Oh we had the normal white hens that laid eggs. However one afternoon when someone stopped to buy eggs, saw me holding one and asked me if I might want a pair of Cornish Game? I explained I would have to ask my parents, however as the 4H down town was soon to hold their contest on Who had the best, I immediately said YES! The Rooster was a beautiful Blue and his mate Penny was a golden brown. We'd always had chickens for food and their eggs, but I had my purebred couple. AND Yes, they gave me 2 Blue ribbons.
