I Hate Racism and Discrimination

I was talking to a white guy, awhile back about using the N word. He couldn’t understand why he couldn’t use that word. Then he went on about black people being too sensitive and we get offended easily. He proceeded to tell me that slavery was over, and I should get over it. So while he’s explaining to me reasons for why white people, should offend black people with racial slurs, because it’s called “freedom of speech” bs, eI’m just sitting back laughing at this idiot. After he was done, I came back with this...

“Nobody is stopping you from using the N word. By all means, do so really loud, in a crowded place full of black people. And see how that works out for you.”

After I said that, the racist idiot shut up. The N word comes with a warning. That’s the point. And that fool was too dumb to realize that. If you’re questioning why a word shouldn’t be offensive based on your lack of experience, to those that know more than you based on their’s, then enough said.

It's a word.
The sentiment and intent behind it can mean various things, dependant on the social culture of those using it, at a given point in time.

The word is not offensive to a percentage of african americans, they often call themselves and friends the same thing. But that is OK?

No, it's hypocritical & racist.

Some people are just ignorant to the historical significance, and offense caused by a word. This is due to it's common use and normalising of the word via african american people such as Rappers, comedians and actors.

People continually use "freedom of speech" not in the context it was written. The constitution guarantees that you can speak out against the ":government" without fear that the "government" will do anything about it. It does not protect you from private venues or in the workplace. You can slander or libel someone without being sued for example or a teacher can use profanity in the classroom. First amendment doesn't protect you from being stupid.

@lasergraph very true
goagainsttheflow · 26-30, F
Yup! Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences.

If someone is going to say whatever is on their mind, especially if it's offensive, they cannot refuse the consequences it brings about. Freedom of speech does not mean you get everything you want.

@imLobo You don't even make sense.
All I have seen you do is harass women that are passive.
You think that BlackLivesMatter is a racist organization. I have seen you present your lame logic so I am not debating points that have no basis.
Keep your delusions.

@imLobo first of all your dumb ass along with other ignorant ass people that think its ok to call black people the n word need to do some fuckin research..... the main reason why we don't want white people calling us that shit is because ya'll need to fuckin grow the fuck up this is not the fuckin 1960s.... there's many black people that are dating and married to white people.... So before you start running your fuckin mouth about shit you don't know anything about actually do research.... i'm so fucking sick of these damn white people that sit up here and say that hate black people but they listen to rap and dance like us
Iwillsurvive · 22-25, F
I dont think he is an idiot. he had good points.
NaturalBeautyQueen · 41-45, F
@imLobo ummm.... why would I do that? That’s not even me. All I know is as a mother of mixed kids, I don’t care who you are, if you say something offensive to my kids, because of their race, or cultural background I would have a problem. And it would be nothing nice.
@Chickie I have mixed it with him before. His favorite person to attack is someone he thinks he can bully.
NaturalBeautyQueen · 41-45, F
@Chickie thank you!

Because some people dont understand, slavery.
I know very few people in fact it is extremely rare that a person dare say the N word in public and not get their teeth knocked out of their face.
In the military it is simple; you get Captains Mast and get busted in rank immediately.
Do not buy the naivety of the person you were chatting with.
They know that it is moronic.
NaturalBeautyQueen · 41-45, F
@SomeLikeItHot and that is why I chose to let him have his 5 minutes of talking out of his ass. I’ll admit that I was entertained knowing that he didn’t have the guts to do what I said, because he knew all that.
@NaturalBeautyQueen You were generous in letting him spout off his ignorance.
NaturalBeautyQueen · 41-45, F
@SomeLikeItHot yes. I try to be lol

BTW i dont think most people want to associate with people that use the word in a negative manner and if he/she was in a crowd of just white people i dont think he/she would like the outcome of that either. Maybe not as upfront as a room of black people but i assure you that its more than just a "color" thing.
NaturalBeautyQueen · 41-45, F
@black4white yes, there are more white people that find it offensive these days. I’ve come across some who don’t like it when black people use it. They know they’re history. And I “high five” them on that. You’re right.
Chickie · F
I think it's because non-black people say just to say because it makes them feel cool. Imo I feel like the word should be deceased and shouldn't be said by anyone it comes from an ugly origin and that's what it'll always will be modifying the spelling doesn't change it.

People who use the N word lose my respect.
@Chickie It is a word that has earned the worst treatment from decent people.

@Chickie mine too. Very well said.
[c=#BF0080] I am so glad you called him out on this. In the 21st century, we have NO excuses in throwing such derogatory words around. FACT![/c]

Racism is terrible my daughter is bi racial in white her daddy is black but unfortunately many people use the n word and look down on people because of race or sexual orientation
NaturalBeautyQueen · 41-45, F
@Bigbrandy I can understand that. Both my kids are mixed. One Asian the other White. It’s 2017 and people still look down on it. It’s unbelievable.
[c=#BF0080] Seems this thread judging by some of the replies, people are trying to defend and give a reason to carry on in ignorance and being blind :\[/c]

That's his problem, and with many other people.
He does not understand why.
I am sure America was one big happy family when slavery ended.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
Using the 'n' word is not indicative of racism. It is indicative of poor social skills.
NaturalBeautyQueen · 41-45, F
@hippyjoe1955 keep telling yourself that
