I Lost Someone To Suicide

An old friend of mine committed suicide last week. I had not seen him in a long time. He was what I call a socially dyslexic person. He would get on well with people then manage to stuff it up with stupid behaviour (alcoholic issues) He was a smart guy, could have been a doctor but never pursued it. I refer to him as the dumbest smart person I knew. What a waste mate.

I lost my father to alcoholism.

His life was not wasted because I had good memories of him, sober or not.
He loved to cook for his children and when drunk, he only slept.
He may not be a good man to everybody but I loved him and will always will.

I'm sorry man. He's going to a better place. Some people just aren't made to get old.

@Lostpoet No worries. Honestly I don't believe people go to a better place. They just stop existing. But true, some people can't get old.

Suicide can never be a solution.

@TeAbsolvo he battled with depression. So I guess for him it was his best solution. He will always be wasted potential. You never know all the demons inside people, therefore you never know all the answers.

@Laughman hmm,true
@TeAbsolvo We don't always commit suicide for a solution - sometimes, it's just to make things stop for a while... sadly, there's no back button for when we are better able to deal with life's problems, though.

Anyway on a lighter note...it's Friday!!
