I Am So Grateful You Are In My Life

Your words fly like songbirds in the deep dark forest I've been walking through. Their melodies remind me of the sunshine and the warm breeze. They fly about me with such color and carefree spirit.

Your voice has been my morning companion, holding my hand, smiling at me, giving me that last encouraging hug before I walk out the door to start my day. I daydream about that voice at different times when I am feeling sad. That voice is so new, the tone of it, the accent in the way you speak, the way that you giggle. It's a companion on this path that feels familiar and safe.

And just when I think that voice is getting lost in in the noise of my own mind, in the chaos of the sounds around me, it speaks louder. That sweet, gentle, loving voice becomes strong and grabs a hold of me, shaking me to pay attention. It speaks with such wisdom and seems to cut to the very core of my heart, right through the chatter and clanging of my inner world. I was sure I had gotten beyond it's reach. I was sure I was walking in so deep that it would fade. And it didn't. And it hasn't. It keeps speaking and singing to me, holding and rocking me, shushing me. The noise is quieting down.
