I Am a Meat Eater

Yes I am, though I care very much about the wellbeing of our planet's animals, so I will not eat meat thats come from a factory farm.

Because I currently live in a concrete jungle (Toronto) it's difficult to find ethically sourced meat, unfortunately.
However in the near future when I own some land- I will hunt much of my own meat, or buy from other ethcial hunters.

I personally have some special words (a prayer or mantra of sorts) that I recite when I make the kill. A moment of reverence while reciting words of gratitude and honor, to me are most necessary to show appreciation for the life taken and wonderful sustenance aquired thanks to that precious life.

Ethically farmed meat is better of course, but I think the best is hunted. Would certainly be the most natural.

I plan to have farm animals, not many, just some chickens, and a cow or two.
I personally will not kill these animals for meat.
They will contribute to my land as will we all who live on it- the cow will give us milk which will also become cheese and butter + the chickens will give us some eggs (though I will always leave some for the chickens themselves, as they will often eat them)

I had gone vegan for about a year in my early twenties, but it did not resonate with me.
I care about all living being very much, but understand and believe we must accept the light and dark of nature and the Universe, such as the food chain.
So this mindset is more or less the happy medium and balanced view I have cultivated over the years. I resonate with it fully, and will teach this way of thinking to my children also.
