I Love Music

Watching an old documentary on Jimmy Hendrix. The man was an absolute legend.

like most of the legends of the day he was tripping all the time
the same thing that helped him explore music and a guitar like no one before him had ever done ,,is the same thing that killed him
Jimmy Page openly admits he was tripping trough all the stuff Zepplin did
To many good stars went out the same way
I have footage of him playing at woodstock
Its a miracle playing an electric guitar in the rain didn't kill him

I was playing a strat through a huge sun amp ,
Someone knocked on the sliding door of the music store ,so I muted the strings with my fingers and grabbed the door to open it ,and every thing went black
the ground switch on the back of the amp was flipped to the wrong side
I became the ground ,,,so how they played in the rain and never got lit up is the mystery to me ,,,I know LSD made them like they were
it also made our Vietnam Vets go into a jungle calling in air strikes on melting trees too
It was a wild time to be alive ,,most of it good ,,but not all of it

@rckt148 Sure was a wild ride. That performance at Woodstock was mindblowing in more ways than one.

I've seen this doco before and it's got his big hits on it, but not If Six Was Nine, one of my favourite songs ever. First heard it when watching Easyrider and fell in love with it.

Can you imagine what he might have done in the 70’s had he lived to continue? He left a great legacy, but he left so much more unrealized.

@SW-User Yeah, but provided he didn't go the way of Jeff Beck. That dude was good, but his later music got a bit too esoteric lol.

It's really interesting to hear people like Eric Clapton and Pete Townshend saying how good he was. Let's face it, those two are also guitar gods.

Now the American National Anthem at Woodstock. Great to see that again.

Now playing Just Like a Rolling Stone. Man, brings back memories.

@uncalled4 There never has been, nor never will be a guitarist as good. Although Robert Johnson wasn't too bad, either.
