*hugs* it's not that he isn't in my life, it's just that he doesn't make an effort now that we are older and have families. He did just swing by to give me 200.00 to go towards the babies daycare registration and supplies fee. Of course money doesn't replace the person. @JupiterDreams:

Not always. My oldest boy (14) is close to his dad and our 7 week old boy will hopefully be close to me.

No. I think it varies quite a lot and depends almost entirely on the individual child and parent as people.

Maybe when they're younger. Now I'm much closer to my mum
