Exciting Time....Or Just Plain Scary ?!?
Last day at home today....
Myself, my wife and our daughter will be *gulp* heading to our first camping week together!
Kaz, my other 'arf, has done quite a lot with her folks in the past....Hope, our daughter, has never done any and is quite excited....I too have never done any camping and....I'm full of worry! Lol!
I'm one of those gals that whilst low maintenance, do like walls...a floor...an en suite...y'know? And the thought of being so close to the ground, under the stars, covered just by an overgrown hankie.....just fills me with trepidation!
We'll be driving up from the Surrey delta up to Kaz's parent's home, in Newcastle, tomorrow, to pick up the tent and various bits (as well as spend some time together) before sorting out the tent and stuff. I'm not privileged to know where we're going as Kaz wants it to be a surprise!
The weather's gonna be great...and we have facilities....and we have an itinerary....and there's pubs around...so we should be good.
Little rule that we'll be having is no social media....and just to [i]enjoy[/i] , y'know? That's cool...
That's Monday until early Sunday morning, where we'll spend a little more time with her folks and then head home.
It's Hope's birthday on Sunday....and so we'll be getting home for her birthday present and surprise.....
She's been banging on for the last 9 months or so about learning to play the guitar....so we've got one for her, and an amp! And Kaz has secretly been having guitar lessons so that she can teach Hope to play....
So we'll want plenty of time for her to see and play with that!
...just as long as I can get through this camping thing! Walking boots instead of heels? Hope nobody takes any pictures of that! Bad for my rep....
