At what age(child's) should parents stop labelling everything their child says as backtalk

I stressed that mine must be respectful in the way they questioned but never limited the questioning.

I never did this to my kid. If he was "talking back," there was usually a point in there somewhere.

Wow! I just remembered my mom used to scold me for that. Can't believe it. I was such a wuss. She did eventually stop, though. I don't know when, but definitely by the time I moved out.

"backtalk" is the lazy mans way of not dealing with issues that matter to those we love.

you shouldnt label everything as backtalk ever because that'd show complete lack in understand for what's reasonable and what isnt.
