Learning a musical instrument...

My humble advice to parents that might have a child failing out of school is to STILL support their musical and art instrests, or whatever.
There was a rule upon me... don't do good in school, didn't get other things... along with the fact of lack of money. Learning a musical instrument is not only a positive aspect for one's mind and well-being, they can also use the knowledge in other realms. One being, homelessness...

There was a boy at my previous school who was just not academic. At all. So his parents found something he liked and encouraged him that way. He did sports from football to gymnastics.

@SW-User There are many musicians/artists who did very well with it without all the academic part

My brother was never much good at academics, but he could fix everyone's bikes. Now he owns a bike store.
