Mothers or fathers, would you choose a childless life if you could travel back in time?

Wraithorn · 51-55, M
No ! I only had one child and she taught me a lot of things. My life would be much less without her. She has no idea that she taught me things, but she has.
Probably because I watched my son suffer for many years before he died. When he went it was awful death at that. The knowledge is disturbing. I wish I didn’t have to carry it.

I wish my husband and I would have spent more time together before having kids but I love having my kids, they make life hard but they also make it amazing.
Yes.
My kids are wonderful people. I don't like being their mother.
@elafina To break it down to the simplist answer - it's a lot of responsibility that never goes away. The things to think and worry over are much larger and more complex when they are grown. There is no finish line.

ok, thanks for answering me. i actually have no kids and i'm at an age i'm having thoughts regarding, should i or should i not... it was a no up to the last couple of years that i stopped seeing it so negatively. It's the responsibility package that i'm mostly considering too. But then, i love kids and i love that there are kids in the world, it'd have been such a depressive place without. Is just my alone time, i don't know how i could give that up. anyways, just random thoughts..
@elafina Children are wonderful when you want them. Hellishly difficult when you do not. Kids need to be wanted.
