If you were a child or parent involved with foster care what was it like?

I watched from the sidelines with parents who fostered. Its heartbreaking. Its hard work establishing authority and creating a home space with them. They get bounced around so much because theyre hard to handle sometimes and foster parents get worn out with them. Its sad. It can also be good when the children thrive.
