Natural remedies?

Just when I thought everyone was getting over their colds, my youngest sister has got both tonsillitis and an ear infection. I’m trying to look for some natural remedies to help relieve some of the symptoms rather than just filling her with painkillers, etc. Any ideas?

There's a product called zicam
It's a natural product except for the nose sprays those do contain medicine but the gummies the meltaway tablets and the nose swabs are all natural they have things in them like echinacea which help to heal a cold quicker that's my go-to thing even with whatever the doctor gives me it's natural so it's safe but of course please make sure it is something that she can take and the ingredients arent something that she will be allergic to

Aww bless her/ you both 😌 if there is pain, then pain killers are a blessing imo. Do you have a beany bag you can warm in the microwave to use as a compression her her poorly ear ? ... I have a leavender one that helps with sore ears. I really would go and see a doctors tho if she is very poorly. Keep an eye on her temperature 🤒 pain killers also help bring that down. Plenty of fluids and rest too xx

@SW-User Thank you 😊 I hadn’t thought about a hot beany bag. We have loads of them. We have been to the doctor yesterday but if she’s still bad we’ll go back Monday morning. She gets poorly quite a bit and has underlying health issues so I’m quite OTT with stuff like this, and I check her temperature a lot.

You are a fantastic sister. I wish her a speedy recovery! And yes go back to Dr if no better 👍☀️@SiB9898

I don't know about ear infections, but I've had a lot of tonsillitis in my life.

Gargling salt water helps, though it might be a bit painful/uncomfortable. Ice cream and warm tea (warm, not hot) with honey also helps sometimes!

Pain killers would be best, but if that's not an option, this is what I got at least.

@NorthernRoses Thank you! She does take painkillers but they don’t last as long as she needs and I worry about giving her too much because she’s diddy so trying to find some other effective ways to make her more comfortable :)
Uh. Tonsillitis and an ear infection require antibiotics. There is no natural remedy for a bacterial infection. Get the kid to a doctor.
@SiB9898 Good. Then there is one for ear infections, garlic cooked in olive oil, surprisingly that works alright. I think it's the heat more than the garlic but whatever. http://dailynaturalremedies.com/7-natural-remedies-for-an-ear-infection/
@RandomForest Just obviously make sure it's cool enough. It's common sense but I feel it bears reminding.

@RandomForest I’ll look into that. Thank you 😊
