Is it true that some children are happier seeing their moms than dads?

I get that the children get close to their mom first but dads are there too. I mean I'm closer to my mom but I love my dad to pieces. I'm close with him too.

I loved both parents but I was always closer to my mom. My dad abused and abandoned me. Mom was always there for me when he wasn't but I'm still loved him very much and forgave him.

When both parents are at least near to be healthy ones and if Freud was right (it seems so), girls trend to grow a bit more attached to fathers.
Same as boys to mothers.

My own family is not a good differential test about since I become a single father of three girls, whith a non available mom.
Yes and no. It would always depend on the history that you have with them and how your relationship with them develops
