If you were a parent who isn't working...

...would you be sure to be home to let your child in and feed that child, or would you ASSUME a family member(s) will be there to let child in and feed child?

My sister is not at work, she left with her boyfriend this morning (it's 4pm). Neither she nor my nephew has a key to the house.

You'd think she'd at least be here to let her child in and feed him..馃檮 Or at least pick him up from school and take him with you.

One day I ought to leave 10 minutes before he arrives...he's not my responsibility.

It's shitty to just leave him, though. Doesn't matter whose responsibility he is.

@Starcrossed true but I doubt he knows how. And I used the word 'kid' because I wanted to know what people would do.

@iamnikki A teen is basically still a kid, dude. People are shitty, doesn't mean that we should be. I think teenagers probably have more important things to focus on than having to worry about being picked up from school or being let in their home. The best thing that can be done is to get an extra key and to insist that the fridge is full enough.

@SW-User Yes, I know a teen is still a kid, but not a little kid. That's the point that myself and the other commenter were making. His mother doesn't even buy groceries so I'm not stocking the fridge. But anyway. Thanks.
SW-User
Yeah but why punish the poor kid cuz your sister is irresponsible

@SW-User I said " i ought to", not "I will".
