Whenever you hear about someone leaving nothing to their son(s) and/or daughter(s) do you assume the kid(s) was a brat or the parent(s) was a jerk?

I don't assume, it could be for a number of reasons, maybe the child doesn't need the $.

There may be perfectly legitimate reasons for disinheriting one's children, but most of the time, I get the impression it's because the parent is a controlling jerk.

Maybe it is a bit of both. That happened to me.
