How can i help my friend?

We are like cousins. Anyway my friend/ cousin called me crying saying her parents and brother yelled at her and she feels bad. She says her parents told her to put her clothes that she can not fit no more in a bag to give to her cousin and she did, but she put it in a trash bag that had trash in it and they yelled at her calling her names and stuff. I just don't know what to say really. I just told her it will be ok.

This isn't clear. Did she put the clothes in a bag with trash in it intentionally, just because she did not like giving up her clothes? Or was it a mistake?

@greenmountaingal well she was not thinking and just got the trash bag because they said put in a bag but they didn't say what bag.

If she did it out of hostility, she may be in for more problems ahead with her family. If she did it by accident, they are being tough on her. She needs your support either way, of course, but how you support her might depend on whether she is having trouble with an unsympathetic family or her own ability to control herself when she is angry.

Parents don’t understand some of our clothes even though they don’t fit anymore are a part of us.
