Would u go against ur parents wishes for ur happiness?

Like in love, if ur parents didnt want u to be with something but ure happy with them, would u go against them?

I married someone they didn't want me to. My Dad helped eventually with the wedding but my mum never wanted much to do with it all we were dating 4 years and married for 24.

My parents have never cared what I do in that regard, as long as I'm happy.

I guess it depends on the person If I really trust that person to be with me then sure I go against my Mother wish, otherwise I would listen to her base upon her judgment of that person.

Perhaps, but I'd have to carefully consider the reasons why they don't want me to be with the person.

My girl did exactly that ,her mother doesn't speak to her any more which is no great loss
