Have you ever known of a child who was raised in a Skinner Box?

When I was in elementary school, there was a girl there whose parents were Jungian psychologists. It was said (among both children and adults) that this girl was put into a Skinner Box when she was home. The girl was a genius with an IQ of 161, but she spent most of the day sitting on the floor sucking her thumb and rocking back and forth. When she had to do schoolwork that required a desk she'd sit at a desk, but the rest of the time she huddled on the floor with tears in her frightened eyes.

In my weird world no one challenged this in any way.

What's a Skinner box

@Abbenthewarwolf It's a box used in psychological experiments, invented by B.F. Skinner. It's to practice operant conditioning. It is basically an empty box with a lever an animal pushes to get a food reward. How it would've been used for a child I am not sure. A psychologist I know says it might have been used for punishment or as an experimental way to remove the child from all normal outside stimuli.

@Abbenthewarwolf From the way the girl acted, it must have been terrible.
