Both my kids talked about wanting tattoos when they were around that age. I told them when they were 18 they could do what they want as long as they also paid for it themselves. They are now 21 and 25 and neither has gotten a tattoo yet.
Lol.... I personally think it's cooler these days not to have a tattoo. @HeavenBesideYou

@tupolevtu144 I dont think this had anything to do with any standard of beauty

Whatever she wants on her forehead.

Sweetie, You'll be unique with a butterfly or dolphin there!
I just fell off my chair. I just know my daughter will ask me one day...
Oh heck! My answer would be a big fat NOPE. Too young! When she is a grown up she is free to make her own choices, she is still a minor. So many kids want to grow up too damn fast these days..... so sad.

@TornByWater 😆 My answer was to wait until she was older yeah
Good Dad. 👊👍😎@iMystery

Been down that road with my 15 yr old too...he has watched enough tattoo nightmares on TV to have convinced himself to wait until he is older and 100% certain of what he wants

I'd say, "Wait until you're 18 and then put it anywhere on your body as long as it's no higher than your ankle."
hami1091 · 41-45, F
I was about that age when I started to beg my parents to let me get one. My friend's parents let them when they were 16, mine did not let me get one and I was 18 before I got my first. My stepdaughter is 16 and asks all the time to get a tat, so far she hasn't been granted permission but I don't really think I would mind.
twistermind · 51-55, F
Which tattoo?
twistermind · 51-55, F
@iMystery Lol! You can say whatever but butterflies are meaningful and beautiful enough to have them as a tattoo.
You will have a hard time to convince her bc you have a tattoo. Lol!
I have an idea. Tell her that having a tattoo is not going to make her different bc everyone have one those days. Let's see what she says. :-)

@twistermind She already knows that and I am not trying to convince her against having one. In fact the main reason I will not allow her to have one right now is simply because her mother will not like it.
twistermind · 51-55, F
@iMystery Convince her to make one of these tattoes that disappear with time. You know...those ones who are only painted on the skin. And then, when she becomes older, she will have time to have one permanent.

The INK does run over time. (mine is 24 years old)
So where she places it, is very important.
Ask her - how cool will this look when you are 70 years old and more ..

@SoFine she'll think it's evergreen. It's perspective. You can't make her look at it from her 70 year old POV

Get her the solar system so she never forgets.

@SW-User Lol sometimes only after MANY mistakes

@iMystery Lol don't tell me you're suggesting her the daffy duck as well.

My 14 year old daughter wants one too!! But she's far too young... I have a tattoo and I told her its AGONY and the needle hurts soooo bad... 😫
iMystery · M
@SW-User Lol the "hurt so bad" talk did nothing to discourage my daughter lol.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
She how serious is, take her down to the tattoo shop immediately

You have tattoos
R5000 · 41-45, M
Do as I say. Not as I do?
SW-User
and?
iMystery · M
@SW-User I advised her to wait until she was older.
