It's expensive, though.

@EvilEmily I know, but I am referring to the high sugar content in a lot of organic food, and that is not healthy, even if it is organic.
Leafy greens, absolutely. Broccoli or cauliflower? No... I should but no. I'm far too squeamish and I've found far too many creepy crawlies in them. I worry about the ones who don't make it out. The others are hit and miss depending on cost and availability of course.

He'll no!!! Organic food doesn't use the pesticides used to keep bugs off. Give me tons of chemicals! I don't want bugs on my food, I would pay extra for non organic!!!

food grown free of pesticides? I usually buy what's most affordable. I guess organic doesn't fit this bill, BUT if I really wanted organic I couuld attempt to grow my own i suspect.

When I can find them at a good price I do buy organic. Last summer Sprouts Market had organic apples for 50 cents a pound and I probably bought 30 pounds. They have organic carrots, if you buy the 5 pound bag, that are cheaper than non-organic at any of the other grocery stores so I buy them organic.

Haha Dave, when it comes to bugs you do have a point. I once bought some cherries and every single one of them had worms. I was so grossed out but then I just sat and cleaned them. I couldn't just throw them away lol. But I heard they can only be found in fruit that's free of toxins so that's a plus lol

Whenever I can.

I do eat organic fruit and vegetables but that's only during the summer. I can rarely find anything organic during the winter months.

Original me, I don't care if it takes 10 years off of my life! The years I have will be quality years, less bugs!

It is pricey to stay healthy in America. If it will keep me away from the Dr.I will pay it.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
I answered "yes", which is truthful, but I do not eat it a majority of the time.
I've already lived longer than I thought I would, so why change now? ;)
DrWatson · 70-79, M
A lot of organic food has an awful lot of sugar in it (like granola). So I do not equate "organic" with "healthy", although there is an overlap.

@1961Dave: the trick is to take the bugs and lightly sauté them with herbs (in 100% organic olive oil, of course). Yum! LOL

It's amazing how no one in this thread, know what organic really means and how much you don't pay attention to what you're eating.
