I Believe In Early Bedtimes As A Punishment

I was punished right away by mom with her paddle on the bare with bare corner time after for most misbehavior. For more serious transgressions, she would say "you're going to get the strap". That meant having to spend the day in dreadful waiting to be sent to bed early, right after supper, to await my punishment. Then I was told to get up and pull down my pajama bottoms and underwear. Then, while standing exposed, I would first be questioned and lectured by dad. Mom would hover near to make sure he was stern enough with his scolding, strict enough with his belt and that he strapped me until I was crying prufusely and doing the dance of pain long enough.

My parents called mine "maintenance spankings", to keep me focused on being better, and to cover all the bad things I'd done and gotten away with...

i used the same method on my 4 and they had to stay in there room until they apologized
