In Semitic language from 3,800 years ago, it means a mouth.
In Pascal programming language its called a pointer or Wedge..
The symbol has also been known as the sigil of lucifer.
In logic, it is known as a “conjunction” or “truth operator”. It means that an entire statement is only true if all the individual components of the statement are true.

I think I've seen it on a Tarot card and even a record album.
